This all-in-one Standard Operating Procedure provides guidance and media to enable BSAFATM elements to be introduced into a safe work process it also familiarises and facilitates competency with the use of risk assessment tools and terminology. The JPA(TM) can be used as a stand alone tool to identify and assess BSAFA(TM) elements for a job or process related situation. Its most effective use in the Practical Safety Zero Harm philosophy, is when it is used in conjunction with, and in accordance with, the process of JSA preparation. When participants are competent in the use of JPA(TM), the JSPA(TM) process can be used. The JSPA(TM) process ensures that not only are the more "conventional" hazards but also BSAFA(TM) requirements are identified prior to work being carried out.
